We have a very ambitious Giving Tuesday goal. But we believe we can reach it.

I may have lost my mind.

I have set a goal for tomorrow's Giving Tuesday campaign that far exceeds any other prior fundraiser.

Here's what happened: I was trying to define our approach to Giving Tuesday this year. Of course, I want to point to the positive impact we've had on individuals and families across the globe in 2021. Mostly though I want to focus on the positive impact we can have with our donors' support in 2022. I want to look to the future with hope and excitement!

During the pandemic period, we supported 55 families in 5 countries. I emailed Mom, "How many families do you think we can support next year?" With new partnerships in the works as well as our ongoing projects, we agreed we can support 70 families in 2022.

I felt good about the desired impact; it was on the doable side of ambitious.

What about the ask? What should our Giving Tuesday goal be? We tossed around some numbers. They all felt...safe. If we are going to do the work of big change, I am convinced we need to sometimes make big asks.

I decided that if we are setting our impact goal at 70 families we should set our Giving Tuesday fundraising goal at $7,000. It is admittedly a stretch. But here's the thing:

I believe in our people—the people we serve AND the people who help us serve them. That's you. I believe in you. I believe that you share our vision and are willing to come alongside us in making it a reality.

Giving Tuesday is tomorrow: Tuesday, November 30. We are asking you to help us raise $7,000 to impact 70 families that have been displaced or are in danger of displacement in 2022. While we will continue to work across the globe, we are going to invest new resources in support of refugees living in the United States. That is our desired area of growth.
